Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which motor capacity I need?
The most important factor is the weight of your gate. Weigh your gate or get a structural estimate from your gate fabricator, then choose a motor rated above that weight. For gates near the upper limit of a model’s capacity, we recommend sizing up for longer motor life and better performance.
What happens if there is a power cut?
Our DC 1000kg model includes a built-in battery backup that keeps the gate operating during power outages. Other AC models include a manual release key so you can open or close the gate manually when needed.
Do I need a professional to install the motor?
We strongly recommend professional installation to ensure safety and optimal performance. However, for experienced handymen and installers, we provide technical guidance. All motors include a mounting plate and the necessary hardware.
How many remote controls are included?
Every One Home gate motor kit includes 2 remote controls as standard. Additional remotes can be paired with the control panel and are available separately.
Are the motors suitable for the Tanzanian climate?
Yes. One Home motors are rated to operate between -20°C and +55°C, which easily covers Tanzania’s climate range from Mount Kilimanjaro’s cool nights to coastal Dar es Salaam’s heat. The IP54 and IP44 protection ratings also guard against dust and rain.
How long does delivery take in Tanzania?
We stock products in Moshi and can arrange fast delivery across Tanzania. Contact us directly for current lead times and delivery to your specific location.
Is installation available outside Moshi?
We supply motors across Tanzania and East Africa. While our primary installation coverage is in the Kilimanjaro region, we can recommend certified installers in other areas or assist with technical guidance for remote installations.
Can the beam sensor detect animals and children?
Yes. The photocell beam sensor detects any obstacle that breaks the infrared beam, including animals, children, or objects placed in the gate’s path. When triggered, the gate stops or reverses automatically, preventing accidents.
